New Member, Old Kite

Hey all. I'm hoping someone here can answer my question. I have come into the possession of an old airfoil kite. Its kinda small, and nothing fancy. But for the life of me, I just can't figure out how to hook it up to a line. Here's a picture I took to help illustrate my problem...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/raineyfarms/90672268/

I'm assuming that the long edge is the leading edge, and the short edge is the trailing edge. The short edge has a line with a swivel connector in the center. The long edge has a line with a knotted loop at the center. Because of the positioning of the leading and trailing lines, I'm pretty sure that this is a single line kite.

If someone has an idea how to connect it to a line, or at least a link to an example, I'd be most appreciative.

TIA

of flying down at the town marina from a few months back. Got some shots of a local with his 2 line power foil and mountainboard. Pretty cool to see him whizzing around the paths in the park area there.

Also shown is my main kite, the Rev 2 supersonic. I've found that any time I try to fly with less than 4 lines I get bored in a hurry.

That silly weather thing sure makes it harder to fly these months.

These are beautiful kites. *drool* I really would love to have a Synergy Deca or one of the 333s ... I met a GuildWorks designer at Burning Man a few years ago and watched him fly for a while.

Any Synergy owners out there have any comments on these kites?

Hi,

I'm looking for the best place to fly my parafoil early in the morning before work in San Francisco. I've had trouble getting it to fly in the past and have not tried for a couple of years so somewhere that is a safe bet would be great.

Thanks

plans or place to purchase visually stunning kite

Hello,

I'm planning on participating in this event.

"Department of Tethered Aviation is all about kites! Come fly with us on Thursday @4:20PM for our annual Burning Man Kite Festival."

http://www.dotarocks.net/default.html

Anyone have any suggestions for a kite that meets these criterias:
1. Visually stunning
2. Single line
3. easy to fly.
4. can withstand a sudden gust of 50 mph or more
5. easy to transport
6. inexpinsive (see point #4)

Much thanks, in advance.

I'm not talking about the drug store $3.00 types. What was the first real kite you purchased or made for yourself?

Mine was a Premier Trick and Track, as designed by Jon Trennepohl of Skyburner Kites. I purchased it about five years ago, and it still is in heavy rotation when I fly kites.

Took the Gemini out for its first flights today, as a test..even though there was not that much wind. It feels nice, if a little 'over controlled' on 15 metre lines.
You might need sunglasses to view the pics by the way, i had the Gemini 'custom coloured' in bright red and fluro pink!..
